Personal care
Partners Home Care will refer qualified Home Health Aides (HHA) and/or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to assist you or your loved one with Activities of Daily Living (ADL). A Registered Nurse will help you determine what best fits your needs. In order for Partners Home Care to refer a caregiver to provide Personal Care you must have a primary care physician.
Home Health Aides (HHA) and/or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) can help individuals who are elderly, disabled, recovering from a surgery or illness and in poor health live in their own homes or in assisted living facilities instead of in a Nursing Home. Most HHAs or CNAs work with clients who need more extensive home care than family or friends can provide. Caregivers may be in the home for as little as one hour (giving a bath) to as much as 24 hours 7 days a week (giving total care). These needs can be short term or long term.
The primary function of the HHA or CNA is to provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and limited household functions. Such assistance may include:
- Helping the patient bathe (bed bath, shower, chair bath, sponge bath)
- Helping the patient Dress
- Transferring to and from bed/chair/bedside commode
- Assisting with mouth and hair care
- Helping with exercise
- Changing the patient’s linens
- Assisting with training in self-care techniques
- Preparing a light lunch or breakfast
- Laundering or drying essential items as time permits
- Light cleaning and straightening of the patient care area
If you or a loved one are needing assistance with ADLs please call Partners Home Care at 863-292-9060 or e-mail us for a free in home care assessment by a Registered Nurse.
