Home maker

Home Makers also called caregivers or companions, provide an array of services including but not limited to:

• Stand by assistance for safety while the client bathes
• Stand by assistance for safety while the client dresses
• Light house keeping
• Sweeping
• Moping
• Vacuuming
• Dusting
• Washing/drying and putting up the dishes
• Laundry (wash/dry/put away)
• Change bed linens
• Meal preparation
• Grocery shopping
• Errand services
• Transporting to doctors appointment using the clients vehicle
• Remind client to take medication (can not give medication)

Pet care

Pet care (dogs and cats only) feed, clean litter box, take for walks, bathe (only if pet is cooperative and is small otherwise will take pet to groomer for you) clean up accidents that pet may have on your floor.

Home makers do not have to be licensed as a CNA/HHA as long as they are not providing Personal Care.

Who needs a Home Maker?

People will hire a home maker for a variety of reasons. Typically they hire them because they are not physically able to do these tasks themselves due to illness, disease, disability, or recovering from surgery. Sometimes the children, who may or may not live out of town, hire a home maker for mom and/or dad to assist them in remaining independent at home.
