As a home maker you will be visiting the homes of clients who are not able live at home independently, they need help maintaining their independence. They prefer the comforts of their own home instead of a medical facility. Some of the things you would be doing include but not limited to:

As a companion you will provide relief for the primary caregiver or be a companion to the client. A companion may provide a number of different services including but not limited to:

  • Medication reminder (not to give meds)

A HHA/CNA is either licensed by the State or certified. They have gone through training to learn how to provide total care to someone who does not have the ability to do for themselves. A HHA or CNA can bathe, feed, dress, transfer from chair/bed/commode/wheelchair. Some of the things you would do includes but are not limited to:

  • Dress someone
  • Light house keeping (same as what the home maker does)
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry
  • Shopping
  • Transportation
  • Transfer
  • Recreation activities (same as a companion)
  • Medication reminding (If you have the training you can assist with self administration of medication)
